Rebuilding the Brazilian rainforest: agroforestry strategies for secondary forest succession.

Of those farmers who moved to Rondonia under the Northwest Region Development Plan, some participated in the Rondonia Agroforestry Pilot Project (RAPP). RAPP participants were used as an experimental group while non-participants were used as a control group. Both farm types were analyzed using two landsat path/rows from the United States Geological survey in 1991 or 1992 and 2011. Data was collected on secondary forest succession. While the specific agroforestry practices were not mentioned, the study describes agroforestry as being for commercial timber use, ground and bush cropping or mixed, the article also references cattle sold by farm type.
