Crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) is a multi-disciplinary approach that aims to reduce criminal activity by making the physical environment less conducive to it. This can include interventions to put in lighting in public spaces, remove obstacles so there is better line of sight, and reclaim spaces for positive community activities.
