Subsidised employment

Subsidized employment interventions comprise two main areas: wage subsidies and labour-intensive public employment programmes, both of which are designed to increase the job and training opportunities available to young unemployed. The main aim of both types of intervention is to ensure that individuals who do not find a job on the regular labour market remain integrated and connected to economic and social life. To that end, such programmes offer short-term interventions but primarily work towards longer term labour market effects.
