Building a strong and inclusive civil society

Civil society refers to the realm of organised social life that is autonomous from the state; it includes a wide-array of non-governmental organisations, such as community groups, labour unions, professional associations, and foundations (World Bank, 2013). The interventions in this section aim to strengthen how well civil society is functioning, and help it effectively interact with the State.
